Vimshottari Dasha
Mahadasha → Antardasha → Pratyantar → Sookshma
Vimshottari is a 120-year planetary-period framework anchored to the Moon's birth Nakshatra. It provides a structured way to examine when natal promises become more active.
The nine allocations are Ketu 7, Venus 20, Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19 and Mercury 17 years. The birth balance depends on how far the Moon has travelled through its Nakshatra.
Mahadasha establishes the broad planetary climate. Antardasha introduces a second lord, Pratyantar narrows the period further and Sookshma provides still finer timing.
The nested lords should be read together rather than as four unrelated predictions. Their natal relationships and the houses they connect can explain why a theme becomes prominent during a particular subperiod.
For every active lord, inspect house ownership, house placement, sign and Nakshatra, conjunctions, aspects and dispositor. Then check whether the same theme repeats in the relevant Varga.
Transits can help time manifestations, but the natal chart and Dasha provide the underlying promise. A transit alone should not be expected to create an event unsupported by the chart.
Dashas describe activation rather than a mechanical event list. One period can express a planet through several significations, and context determines which are most relevant.
